Three New Master Cadets!
The Headmaster was delighted to meet Corps’ latest three Master Cadets this week, to discuss their experiences and to congratulate them on their achievements.
Passing the gruelling six-day long Master Cadet course and achieving the coveted award is the pinnacle an Army Cadet’s career which very few reach. Cadets from all over the UK come to test themselves at the Cadet Training Centre, Frimley Park (CTC) twice a year – few make it as far as this course, and many who do attend do not pass. The achievements of Sgts Beukes, Veldtman and Wolstenholme of the Lower Sixth are truly impressive.
Particular congratulations go to Sgt Beukes, who was awarded the very rare distinction of a ‘High Commendation’ by CTC’s Commanding Officer, Lt Col Thorne. He wrote of her: “What an impressive Senior Cadet! Sgt Beukes arrived well prepared and clearly determined to achieve. Her orders delivery was akin to that of a Regular Army JNCO preparing for Infantry Battle School. Her patrol action as a section commander for a vehicle RTI with a challenging casualty and enemy was outstanding.”
The achievement of these three takes Corps’ total of qualified Master Cadets to nine, an extraordinarily high number of which few if any CCF’s nationwide can boast. These Master Cadets are at the heart of our team for Cadet Cambrian Patrol later this month.
