Success in Maths Olympiad & Kangaroo Competition
Congratulations to the seven Third Year pupils who qualified for the Grey Kangaroo following their success in last term’s Intermediate Maths Challenge. Special congratulations to Cato, who achieved a Merit with his fantastic score of 107/135, which was best in year. Extra Special congratulations to Ian in Third Year who qualified for the even more difficult Cayley Olympiad, achieving a Merit in this extremely challenging paper and an achievement to be proud of. Leonid and Albert from the Second Year also took part in the Cayley, with Albert achieving a Merit as well.
Congratulations also to the 16 Fourth and Fifth Year pupils who took part in the Pink Kangaroo. Rodney, Ryan, Daniel and Joshua (Fourth year) and Elle, Jason, and Mattaeus (Fifth Year) all achieved merits, with Mattaeus’ superb 117/135 being the best in the year. Extra special congratulations to Anastasia and Annie in the Fourth Year, and Alex, Adrian and Ariel in the Fifth Year who took part in the even more difficult Hamilton and Maclaurin Olympiads. Alex and Adrian should be delighted with their Merits, but Anastasia’s Distinction with a Silver Medal and Ariel’s Distinction with a Bronze medal are cause for real celebration.
