Sixth Form Inspirational Art Trip
The Lower Sixth Fine Artists / Photography and Fashion students went on a three day residential research trip to the Manchester and Liverpool Art Galleries. It was a jammed packed programme of art gallery research for their 3000 word visual essay to be written in the summer term. The galleries visited included the marvellous Manchester City Art Gallery which has taken a contemporary approach to the curating of the collection. We also took in the street art of Manchester and got them drawing and thinking creatively about their surroundings with Hockney style ‘joiners’ and recording their surroundings in response to each of their bespoke lines of enquiry.
We had glorious weather and the students had a chance to consider the University campus at Manchester as they think ahead to UCAS applications.
