Oxford Praise for Holly
As the Academic Shorts series continues to run, a recent entry by star classicist Holly (Fourth Year) has earned high praise from Oxford dons.
Holly produced a most original and sophisticated video on the poetry of the first century BC Roman poet Catullus, speaking eruditely on texts untouched by the GCSE syllabus. One professor and world expert on Latin literature commented, “Brilliant! That’s just fantastic, particularly as she was reading it off her own bat. Really enjoyed that, thank you, Holly.” Another said, “This is a production of extraordinary sophistication for which I’d congratulate an undergraduate classicist. That the compiler should have achieved it on her own is a terrific effort.” Well done, Holly!
