Magical Chamber Music Recital

The Music Department was delighted to host our annual Chamber Music Recital amidst the beautiful space and acoustics of the Wilberforce Hall.

Following a delicious lunch, allowing pupils and parents the chance to relax and mingle, we began the concert by welcoming The Soderberg Quartet from Caterham Prep School, who treated us to their repertoire for the semi-finals of the Pro Corda National Schools Chamber Music Festival in which they will be participating shortly after half term. We heard a beautiful rendition of Mancini’s ‘Moon River’ from our newly formed and impressive Clarinet Quartet, as well as some energetic Bozza from our Flute Choir. Both The Bridge and Amadeus Trios performed two movements from Klengel’s Piano Trio with great precision and musicality, whilst our Saxophone Ensemble wowed the audience with Piazzola’s Libertango. The Zheng Trio finished the recital with the ambitious first movement of Ravel’s Piano Trio which they performed with flair and maturity.
