Leading International Vet Dr Bronwen Eastwood Visits the Wright Society
This week our medics, dentists and vets at The Wright Society were treated to a lecture by Dr Bronwen Eastwood. Dr Eastwood is currently running a small animal practice in Sussex but has practiced all over the world specialising in treating camels in Egypt to caring for manatees in Belize. Her work in Belize 20 years ago lead to a change in the law there to stop the poisoning of stray dogs and has seen the opening of an animal sanctuary. The lecture covered many areas such as the difficult ethical dilemmas vets face on a daily basis and also included a fascinating insight into moral injury and the need for anyone in the health profession to look after their own wellbeing and the team around them.
The Wright Society was set up by Mr Quinton and Old Caterhamians Max Fogelman and Louis Steele to help aspiring medics, dentists and vets from Caterham and our partner state schools achieve their dreams. The society’s Patron is Dr Richard Wright.
