Hockey Outreach Sessions
In recent weeks Caterham School Hockey Academy have been entertaining local primary and prep schools by delivering free hockey taster sessions to the schools’ budding young hockey players. Wallace Fields Junior School and Micklefield School were the latest schools to visit Caterham School and our wonderful sports facilities. Players worked on basic skills and techniques before moving on to more advance skills and getting involved in fun, game-based activities allowing them to put these skills in to action. Players were able to make huge improvements throughout the session and were treated to a demonstration of shooting from Hockey Academy Manager Peter Friend, with all of the players leaving with huge smiles on their faces! The session catered for all abilities and, for many, this was their first experience of hockey, yet for some it was a chance to show off their advanced skills. Both school groups were a pleasure to coach and we hope that they are inspired to continue with their hockey development.
