George Heads to Regional Final ARTiculation 2025
ARTiculation 2025 got off to a flying start on Monday with our five shortlisted internal competitors from Lower Sixth Form. Pupils are invited to each deliver a 10 minute presentation to an audience about a work of art, architecture or an artefact of their choice.
Taking part in ARTiculation improves pupils’ oracy skills, including public speaking, independent research skills, presentation skills, critical thinking, and visual analysis skills. Our esteemed judges assessed each presentation, looking at content, structure, delivery and the speaker’s original approach and unique potential. The pupils are aiming at winning a place in the national final at the National Gallery in the spring. The competition is a fantastic opportunity for pupils to practice their oracy and critical thinking skills. The judges were impressed with the wide range of artworks selected from the tower of radios installation by Meireles in Tate Modern to The Execution of Lady Jane Grey by Delaroche at the National Gallery and found it hard to settle on the first, second and third placings.
Well done to our overall winner, George McA, who goes through to the regional final in February in Folkestone. George presented on performance artist Abramovich’s Nude with Skeleton. Her presentation was personal, thought provoking and witty.
