Exploring Future Pathways at Annual University Fair

Caterham School welcomed over thirty universities to its highly anticipated University Fair on Thursday, 27 February. The event provided pupils with a valuable opportunity to explore their higher education options and engage with representatives from some of the UK’s top institutions including Bath, Imperial College London, King’s College London, Lancaster, Birmingham, Cardiff, Durham, and Exeter, among many others. University representatives were on hand to answer questions about courses, entry requirements, and student life, giving pupils an in-depth look at their potential future pathways.

Alongside the exhibition, a comprehensive programme of ten talks ran throughout the day, covering essential topics to help pupils navigate the university application process. These sessions included:

Student Finance – Understanding tuition fees, loans, and scholarships.

Applying to Competitive Universities – Advice on standing out in applications to top institutions.

Study in the USA – Exploring the process of applying to American universities.

Personal Statements – Offering a first look at the new three question personal statement style for 2026 entry.

The fair was a resounding success, with pupils and parents from Caterham and our local partner schools taking full advantage of the opportunity to gather information, ask questions, and attend insightful presentations. One pupil commented, “It was really useful to speak directly with university representatives and get a better understanding of my options and understand how the application process works.” Others mentioned how surprised they were at the diversity of topics that could be studied alongside their major subject focus, as well as how taking a course that allowed a placement abroad or a year in industry could increase your employability.

Caterham School’s University Fair continues to be a highlight of the academic year, equipping pupils with the knowledge and confidence they need to take the next step towards their future studies and we thank all the universities involved for joining us for this memorable occasion. Roll on 2026!
