Caterham Hockey Trio’s Tournament Triumphs
The Kent Cup U12s hockey tournament provided a thrilling spectacle, with three of Caterham’s talented U12s battling their way to the final.
In an intense and closely contested final, Elizabeth A and her Knole Park team emerged victorious, narrowly defeating Rosie W, Charlotte S, and their Sevenoaks team on penalty flicks. The final score stood at 5-4 after an exciting 1-1 draw in normal time.
Both teams showcased outstanding skill and determination throughout the competition, conceding just one goal each in the pool stages. Their incredible performances have secured them places in the upcoming Regional Finals at the end of April, where they will compete against top teams from across the region in the South East Finals.
Beyond school competitions, these players have also made remarkable achievements on the wider hockey stage. Rosie and Charlotte secured an impressive 3rd place at an international tournament in Barcelona, along with a 2nd place finish at the Canterbury tournament in January. Meanwhile, Elizabeth celebrated a 1st place victory at the Nottingham Indoor competition over Christmas. Additionally, all three players have represented their counties in various high-level matches throughout the season.
We wish them the best of luck in the Regional Finals and look forward to seeing them continue to shine on the field!
