Amazing Aaron crowned Regional Champion
The Third Year’s answer to Usain Bolt: Aaron, has been whizzing through the qualifying rounds on his path to the English Schools’ Athletics Nationals.
Aaron qualified to represent the South Surrey District through his club and school and performed amazingly at the Surrey Schools Championship recording a time of 24.04- a new personal best- knocking over a second and a half off last season’s best time. Not only was this a personal best but it beats the current school record, which has stood for 12 years, by 0.66 of a second and sees him ranked within the top 50 nationally for boys of his age.
The strength of Aaron’s performance afforded him qualification to represent Surrey at the Inter-Counties Regional Finals, which took place on Saturday 15 June. Aaron again performed exceptionally to finish on top of the podium and be crowned Regional Champion for the 200m.
Aaron currently competes in the Junior Boys U15 events and has recently increased his sprint distance from the 100m & 200m to the 200m & 300m; he is a keen member of Holland Sports Athletics Club and manages to balance a demanding training schedule whilst also representing the School’s cricket team.
We wish Aaron the best of luck in his future Club events and National Qualification.
