75%+ Musical Merit & Distinction in ABRSM
45 talented pupils from across the Senior and Prep schools successfully passed ABRSM (Associated Board of Royal School of Music) exams last week, including pupils taught by our excellent Visiting Music Teachers at Caterham, pupils taught externally, and pupils from Copthorne Prep School. Over 75 per cent of pupils achieved merits and distinctions which is an incredible accomplishment!
These fantastic results are indicative of the exceptional capability and dedication of all our music pupils and are a testament to the commitment and support of our large team of highly skilled VMTs. Pupils were also tested on scales, sight reading and aural ability, and performances were highly commended by the examiners, who ranged from an internationally acclaimed mezzo soprano singer, operatic conductor and Professor at the Royal College of Music, and a highly experienced organist and choral director.
It is amazing to see such huge achievements from pupils who contribute so much to the Music Department, in our choirs, ensembles and orchestras, performing regularly in music events across the school. The examiners and visitors from Copthorne Prep commented on how well-mannered pupils were, and how impressed they were with the school facilities.
Huge congratulations go to all our pupils, with special recognition to those awarded the highest level of distinction:
Eugenie C, Ella D, Alfred D, Alex S, Tasanee S, Lucy B, Jessica C, Rosa H, Iris N, Jasper R, Ella W.
