UK Linguistics Olympiad Success!
Earlier this term Sophie H and Lisa H (Fourth Year) and William J (Third Year) took part in the UK Linguistics Olympiad, competing against students up and down the country to solve linguistics puzzles interpreting the ancient Ogham alphabet, investigating emphasis in spoken Filipino and analysing an extract of Winnie the Pooh in Latvian, and more!
Their problem-solving, attention to detail and understanding of how language systems work led to awards for all; Bronze at Foundation level for William and Lisa and a Silver at Intermediate level for Sophie; very well done!
