Caterham School Piano Festival 2024

An exciting day celebrating piano music with workshops, masterclasses and performances. Open to pianists from Year 5 to Sixth Form from any school.
Who is the Piano Festival suitable for?
- Year 5 to Sixth Form
- Pianists of grade 3 and above
Pupils will also have the opportunity to play on a Walter Fortepiano, a reproduction of an original 1805 Walter fortepiano, similar to those that Beethoven, Haydn and Mozart would have performed on in their day.
Outline of the day:
8.30am Senior pupils meet for breakfast pastries and introduction
8.45am Senior Pupils’ Masterclass – Session 1
9.55am Break
10.15am Senior Pupils’ Masterclass – Session 2
12.00pm End of Senior Pupils’ Masterclass
1.00pm Year 5 and Year 6 pupils to arrive with teachers for introduction (teachers to attend a lunch with The Deputy Head (Admissions)
1.15pm Year 5 and 6 Pupils’ Masterclass – Session 1
2.30pm Break
2.50pm Year 5 and 6 Pupil’s Masterclass – Session 2
4.00pm Break and snacks for Year 5 and 6 Pupils
4.15pm Year 5 and 6 Parents Arrive
4.30pm Twilight Concert for Year 5 and 6 Pupils
5.30pm Drinks Reception for parents and all pupils
6.00pm Evening Piano Recital (featuring Senior Pupils and selected Year 5 and 6 pupils)
