Outdoor Learning
Given our stunning location it is only natural that a Caterham education embraces outdoor learning.
Resilience, risk taking and problem solving are enhanced by the School’s outdoor curriculum, along with the obvious physical and mental well-being benefits of spending time outdoors.
Pupils enjoy timetabled lessons exploring bushcraft, orienteering skills and woodland ecosystems in addition to mastering our own high ropes course and climbing wall.
For many pupils, exploring different skills and environments is the perfect balance to academic study, a time where pupils stretch themselves and strengthen friendships. Besides being great fun, outdoor learning enhances pupils’ social communications and teamwork and brings a greater appreciation of environmental issues and their responsibility to the world around them.
