World Book Day 2025
World Book Day 2025 was marked with a variety of activities across the week, starting with year group assemblies run by the English department. Pupils were invited to add their thoughts on the ‘Graffiti Wall’ installation in the concourse, the list of recommended and favourite books grew very quickly over the next few days. Others enjoyed selecting from ‘Blind Date With a Book’, thank you to the Library Book group for their help with the book selection and wrapping. Staff joined in with costumes depicting well known literary figures . The week finished with pupils listening to audio recordings of Lamb to the Slaughter throughout the day, and everyone stopping just before lunch to Drop Everything And Read. The 25 minutes of reading for pleasure was a welcome pause in the middle of a busy day and rounded off the week very quietly.
We asked teachers to tell us about their favourite books… click here to watch
