Congratulations to our Oxford Offer Holders!

Huge congratulations to our nine Upper Sixth Form pupils who have secured offers from the University of Oxford following a highly competitive application and interview round. The offers received by Caterham pupils span a wide range of subjects including PPE (Philosophy, Politics and Economics) to Chemistry, French & Spanish, Mathematics, English and History. The good news followed a 92 per cent application to interview ratio with 34 out of 37 applicants to both Oxford and Cambridge being called to interview. Our pupils who were called to interview at Cambridge University endure a slightly longer wait with the university making offers later this month. The application and interview process for both Oxford and Cambridge is notoriously tough and Caterham pupils gain tailored support from as early as the Fifth Year and throughout their application process.

We support a wide range of pathways at Caterham and we absolutely know that the Oxbridge route is not for everyone nor necessarily the best option for a range of courses, however, it does act as a barometer for academic ambition, and Oxford and Cambridge remain fantastic options for our pupils.”

The Spectator magazine identified Caterham as the top school in Surrey for gaining offers and securing places at Oxford and Cambridge Universities, based on data released from both universities. In their study The Spectator included all UK independent and state-maintained schools and colleges and placed Caterham number one in Surrey and no.61 across the UK.
