Elise Impresses Judges at Schools Starpack Competition
The Design and Technology department is thrilled to announce the success of Elise B (Upper Sixth), who was awarded runner-up in the prestigious Schools Starpack competition. Her innovative design for a ‘healthy snack on the go,’ targeted at teenagers, impressed the judges and stood out among strong competition in the Sixth Form category.
As part of the experience, our Sixth Form pupils were invited to virtually attend the awards ceremony. This provided them with invaluable insights into the packaging industry, as they heard from leading companies such as Ocado, Biffa, and Incpen. These industry experts played a key role in the selection of the winners and runners-up in each category. Elise and her classmates were thrilled to be part of the event and to celebrate her success.
Meanwhile, our Second Year and Lower Sixth pupils have kicked off the 2025 project brief. The challenge is to design packaging for a set of four sweet treats that can be safely mailed through the postal system. Pupils are already brimming with creative ideas and are looking forward to sampling the treats as part of the project in the weeks ahead. It’s an exciting time for the department as it continues to explore and innovate in the world of design and packaging.
