EDGE Partnerships in Action
As part of the Lower Sixth EDGE curriculum this term, groups of pupils have devised and performed interpretations of primary school texts to pupils at East Surrey Learning Partnership schools. One group recently visited Furzefield Primary School, where they brought Roald Dahl’s The Twits to life for a captivated Year 5 audience. Following the performance, the pupils enjoyed an engaging question-and-answer session with the performers. This week, another group travelled to St John’s Primary School to stage an adaptation of Shakespeare’s The Tempest for Year 5. The performance successfully reimagined the play, making it accessible and engaging for a younger audience. It was inspiring to see Caterham pupils connecting with their ESLP peers through theatre. In January, the final group will perform for Year 6 pupils at St Francis Catholic Primary School. We’re looking forward to seeing them bring the next piece to life.
