Live Lounge Audience Spellbound

Live Lounge Audience Spellbound

The Music Department hosted another fantastic and ever popular Live Lounge evening, featuring a wealth of acoustic covers, from Bread to Renee Rapp, Elvis Presley to Rihanna.

Angus F and Poppy R (Third Year) kicked off proceedings with a stunning rendition of Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga’s ‘Die With a Smile’. Sophia P-W (Fourth Year), treated us to one of her own compositions – ‘Kill for You’ which was both haunting and beautiful. Covers of ‘Hallelujah’, ‘Little Lion Man’ ‘Read All About It’ and ‘Wicked Game’ were just a few of the many highlights. Particular mention must go to Will J (Fourth Year) for his uplifting version of Frankie Valli’s ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off You’, Emily S (Third Year) for her beautiful cover of Phoebe Bridgers’ ‘The Gold’ and Zoe T’s (Upper Sixth) incredible cover of Renee Rapp’s ‘In the Kitchen’.

The evening ended with Max K (Upper Sixth) singing Bread’s ‘Everything I Own’ which left the audience spellbound. Live Lounge is a regular fixture in the music calendar and we always welcome new performers. Please do look out for this wonderful opportunity to perform in the intimate setting of the Deayton Theatre accompanied by music staff.

Many thanks and congratulations to all our pupils for another wonderful evening of live music.

 Mr Assen, Director of Music
