Pupils and Staff Lead Black History Month

Pupils across the school heard from Alex McLean our Pastoral Assistant, Edwin K and Simi A about why we celebrate Black History Month. This year’s theme is ‘Reclaiming the Narrative’ so the pupils highlighted their favourite examples of Black excellence and inspiration, showcasing people from sectors such as sport, music, TV and film and education. It was superb to hear firsthand about how we can all be a part of changing the narrative. This week the pupils also visited pupils at our Prep School to talk about these themes.

Pupils will be encouraged to engage with Black history in tutor time this month, and they will be encouraged to become active participants in reclaiming the narrative in their interactions within our community. Thank you Alex, Edwin and Simi for teaching us.
