New OCs Reunite for Richmond Rugby 7s Summer Social
A team of new OCs reunited on the rugby pitch on Saturday 1 June at the Richmond 7s Summer Social representing the OCA. The boys were in the Open competition meaning they were up against a mixture of professional academy 7s teams and ex-leavers including Old Wellingtonians and Warwick School Leavers. Having battled hard through each match, the boys just missed out on the cup, after losing 15-14 to Warwick Leavers and found themselves in the plate.
Having won the plate semi-final, the boys were against one of the academy teams of Northampton Saints 7s. With an early try from the opposition from some miscommunication at the kick off, the boys fought back including tries from Alex Criscuolo, Will Buxton and Tyler Norwood to find themselves 22-5 up at the half-time whistle. Unfortunately, the boys couldn’t quite hold onto the lead and ended up losing 27-30 on the last play of the game. What a great day it was and fully enjoyed by all.
