Live Lounge ‘Extra’ – Invitation for pupils to perform!
Our Live Lounge takes a different format this term as we open up the event to parents, staff and Old Caterhamians as well as our pupils – all in aid of St John’s Church and the Caterham School Transformational Bursary fund. The event will take place on Saturday 2 March from 4.00pm in the beautiful setting of St John’s Church, Caterham, and we now invite pupils to put themselves forward to perform acoustic covers and original songs. We are keen for pupils to work together with the support of music staff. On the back of the BBC Live Lounge series and other such concert series, we invite pupils of all years to sign up to perform their own versions of songs or their own compositions. A sign-up sheet is available on the noticeboard outside the Music Office.
There is no formal audition for this event, but we ask that pupils ensure a polished and confident performance, and we may wish to hear individuals as they prepare. We ask that pupils consider their song choice carefully and must indicate song choice on the sign-up sheet (and not simply reserve a slot). We are looking for a range of modern and classic tracks, both upbeat and more relaxed. As this is such a popular event, we cannot guarantee your place just by signing up.
The junior session (First to Fourth Year) will run from 4pm to 5.30pm, the senior session (Fifth Year and Sixth Form) from 6pm to 7.30pm and the parents, staff and Old Caterhamians session from 8pm to 9.30pm.
Rehearsals will be arranged with you in advance. Pupils are responsible for providing sheet music in a suitable format. The deadline to sign-up is by Friday, 9 February.
