Castle Building Contest in First Year
Over the October half-term, First Year pupils were challenged to produce the best castle they could, in response to learning about William the Conqueror’s castle building programme after the Battle of Hastings in 1066. They took up the challenge with enthusiasm, and ever since the History Office has been awash with castles of all shapes, sizes, hues, and designs. After an extremely hard-fought contest, five winners were selected and presented with prizes. Well done to all of those who entered, and particular congratulations go to:
Ted J – 1B
Rio P – 1O
Elliot W – 1B
Ethan M – 1B
Charlie B – 1O
Congratulations to all who entered. Selecting winners from the formats as varied as Lego, Minecraft, 3D printed, modelled, and designed on software was deeply challenging. This was easily the best year yet in terms of both number and quality of entries.
