Castle Capers on Open Morning
At Open Morning last month, we were a few of the lucky First Year pupils who got to be part of the history activities, which we found to be a very exhilarating and interesting experience. One of our activities was constructing medieval castles…but with our own twist! We were able to experiment with a variety of upcycling materials such as: cardboard boxes; empty drink cans; old, unused fabric; egg cups; and much more! In addition, we had access to some core materials such as string, tape and paper. We had some fantastic results that stretched the limits of creativity with: castles on clouds; working drawbridges; miniature castles; and even a castle that could be explored inside!
Ultimately, these were the final standings:
3rd: Lucy C- with a mini castle and windows
2nd: Arya S P, Siya L and Lara S- with a magical castle in the clouds
1st: Sophia D L P G, Emma C, Amritaa D and Margarita P – with their truly medieval castle
By the end of the morning, everyone had so much fun and we will always remember it as our first Caterham Open Day!
