Parisian Adventures
At the beginning of the Easter holidays, 32 pupils in Third and Fourth Years and four staff had a fabulous time in Paris. It felt so good to finally be able to travel again as a group and to soak up the atmosphere of the French capital putting into practice our linguistic skills. As soon as we stepped off the Eurostar, pupils were met with their first challenge of navigating the Parisian métro system to make our way to the hotel. The pupils attended a language school in the mornings and greatly impressed their French teachers with their level of French and their willingness to get involved. We visited many famous landmarks and spent a great afternoon in the Louvre discovering great artists and taking the obligatory “selfie” in front of the Mona Lisa. We enjoyed strolling along the beautifully manicured “Jardin des Tuileries” musing on the many historical events that took place there.
The highlight of the trip was our visit to the Sacré Coeur and Montmartre on a glorious spring day or maybe it was the Tour Montparnasse with its spectacular views of Paris from the rooftop. The pupils had plenty of opportunities to practice their French and soak up the atmosphere. They have come back ready to face the challenge of their forthcoming end of year oral exams. Bravo et Bonne Chance à tous!
