French Drama Performance
Our French Sixth Form pupils, Tristan E, Annabella W. and Emmaya S. took part last week in the inaugural edition of “Le festival du theatre francophone at Charthouse”, bringing together participants from many schools in the area. Treading the boards is a nerve-racking experience at any time and to attempt it in a foreign language is a commendable challenge! Tristan, Annabella and Emmaya played a scene of a French modern play called “L’atelier” by Jean-Claude Grumberg , set in post second war France. The competition was fierce as our actors were up against some much more experienced opponents. However, they did it and left with “les encouragements du jury”. A great experience for our linguists and an experience to repeat in 2024 at the next Festival du theatre Francophone. Bravo Tristan, Annabella et Emmaya! You were fantastic.
