Intermediate Maths Challenge

Congratulations to our pupils from the Third, Fourth and Fifth Year who took part in the UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge.  There were 36 Golds, 49 Silvers, and 27 Bronzes awarded. Extra special congratulations to Adrian (Fifth Year) for his fantastic 111 and best in School, Annie (Fourth Year) for her 103 and Best in Year, and Ian for his 95 and Best in Year. Also extremely well done to the two Second Year pupils, Albert and Leonid, both of whom achieved Golds in this competition designed for older pupils.

Special Congratulations to the five pupils who have qualified for the Cayley/Hamilton/Maclaurin Olympiads, an extremely challenging two-hour paper for those who did especially well in the Challenge. These are Ian (Third Year), Annie (Fourth Year), and Ariel, Alex and Adrian (Fifth Year).

The following 24 pupils qualified for the Kangaroo follow on round for high achievers who did not quite qualify for the Olympiads. Leonid and Albert from the Second Year; Daniel, Cato, Alex, Yolanda, Tiffany, and Miles from the Third Year; Daniel, Lynus, Rodney, Vivienne, Ryan and Travis from the Fourth Year; and Ivan, Vanessa, Isabelle, Joel, Matteus, Elle, Jason and Hazel from the Fifth Year.

Follow on rounds take place on Thursday 16 March.
