Chamber Music Recital
Pupils from First Year to Lower Sixth performed a beautiful recital of Chamber Music with a wonderful range of musical styles- from Schubert to Debussy with some jazz and Latin highlights. The opening items (expressive pieces by Faure and Elgar) were performed by a newly formed string quartet- their debut displayed their dedication and enthusiasm perfectly. The closing item (Bridge’s ‘Miniatures’) was performed by an established Piano Trio and demonstrated their excellent sense of ensemble. The recital featured a range of talented pianists and celebrated the excitement of complex classical and romantic works- particular mention must go to Ethan G and Jayden T for their accomplished performances of such challenging pieces. Solos were also performed on other instruments and particular praise must be given to Rosie B for her playing on the French Horn. These recitals are an excellent way for musicians to share their hard work- huge effort and preparations take place for music exams and it is hugely satisfying to perform to an audience. We are fortunate to have the Wilberforce Hall as a recital space for such occasions. Well done and congratulations to all performers on a stylish evening of excellent music.
