The Wright Society Sixth Form Presentations
The Wright Society is dedicated to helping pupils at Caterham and our partnerships schools achieve their dream of studying medicine.
The new Lower Sixth Form pupils got off to a great start this week with Katie R delivering a presentation on ‘The Forgotten Tropical disease – Leishmaniasis’. Katie delved into the subtypes of the disease explaining how the vector, the phlebotomine sand fly, transmits this deadly parasite through its bite in areas of South America and the Tropics. She explained the diagnosis, symptoms and how management of this disease can be so problematic in less economically developed countries.
Well done Katie on your excellent research and confident delivery.
