Record Round for University Applications
2022 has seen a superb set of university offers secured by our Upper Sixth Form pupils for the UK’s top universities. Three quarters of all applications to Russell Group universities, and the ever popular choices of University of Bath and St. Andrew’s, resulted in an offer. In a year which saw increased national competition from UK applicants and an altered university admissions schedule due to the pandemic, Caterhamians can be proud of offers secured for the autumn. The most popular destinations for Caterhamians this year include University College London, University of Nottingham, Southampton, Bristol, Manchester and Bath. Applications to overseas universities have also proven to be increasingly popular with over 100 applications made by Upper Sixth Form pupils in 2022.
Seven Caterhamians currently hold an offer to study medicine, dentistry or veterinary science for autumn 2022. This success follows last year’s record 10 places secured at medical school. Alongside our pupils’ science teaching, the support and extension provided Caterham’s Wright Society and the Moncreiff Jones Society are proving to be excellent launch pads for aspiring young medics.
2022 has also been a record year for applications and offers for conservatoires. Raife Nash has received unconditional offers from Guildhall, Royal Academy, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Royal Northern as well as a scholarship offer from Birmingham Conservatoire with a Principal Study Composition. Jerry Needham has received an unconditional offer from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with a Principal Study of Piano. Anna Pearson has received an unconditional offer from Trinity Laban. Amelie Doll was one of 48 out of 3,000 applicants to receive an unconditional offer from the Emil Dale Performing Arts Academy.
