The Wright Society – UCAT Exam Skills Shared
The UCAT exam is possibly the most important aptitude test any aspiring medic will take as it is the one used by most medical schools. Caterham Medics have been put through their paces this week and last week to get to grips with what this test is really about and the skills you need to develop to do well in it. Many medical schools use this test to decide on a cut off and whether to invite a pupil to interview.
The presentations were devised and led by current President of The Wright Society Max F and Vice President Louie S, both having taken the test last September and having secured interviews over the last few weeks. Mr Quinton said “he could not be more proud of Max and Louie and the commitment they show to the society and the time they devote to helping the current Lower Sixth Form. Real medics’ altruistic behaviour from the heart. Neither stand to gain anything from doing it. Their interviews are over, and we have fingers crossed they will hear back soon with an offer”.
Indeed, in addition, next week on Tuesday evening The Wright Society has put together, led by Max and Louie again, an evening of case studies where break out groups of our medics will get a taster of what PBL (Problem Based Learning) courses are like in the UK’s Med Schools. We are extremely proud to have widened the net and this and future sessions will now include associate members of the Society – medic hopefuls from Oxted School and the LAE. Their input has been so interesting and they have been a wonderful addition to TWS.
