Caterham Athlete Programme
The Caterham Athlete Programme (CAP) is a unique professional level programme specially designed to give our committed and top performing young sports people specialised, focused support so that they can reach their sporting potential.
The Caterham Athlete Programme is a unique multi-faceted programme that aims to develop sporting performance of Caterham pupils. Athletic development, nutritional advice, seminars, mentorship and rehabilitation support are the different components of the programme that are tailored to the age and stage of CAP pupils. The CAP programme provides additional support to stretch and challenge our top athletes, aiming to produce high potential, high performing athletes capable of gaining international honours. The programme aims to produce well rounded, knowledgeable athletes who strive to raise standards and lead others. All staff involved in the CAP programme help create a supportive network around these athletes, nurturing their ideas and building their confidence to perform.
CAP Structure:
Foundation – First and Second Year (7 & 8) • Access to mentor on request • Regular Seminars • Testing Once per term • One Foundation Athletic Development session per week • Entry points at start of year 7 and year 8 • Exit points at end of year 7 and 8
Build – Third and Fourth Year (Years 9 & 10) • Access to mentor on request • Regular Seminars • Testing Once per term • Two Build Athletic Development sessions per week • Entry point at start of year 9 • Exit point at end of year 10
Compete – Fifth Year to Upper Sixth (Years 10 to 13) • Access to mentor and Heads of Sport on request • Half termly CAP Huddles • Testing Once per term • Three Compete Athletic Development sessions per week • Entry points at start of year 11 & L6th • Exit points at end of year 11 & U6th
