Oxbridge Offers
Congratulations to all our Upper Sixth Formers who have received offers from Oxford or Cambridge University. These pupils have had to excel at AS level, tackle undergraduate level pre-selection tests, and then undergo the stiffest examination at interview to gain an offer. This year the competition for places became even more intense as the number of applicants per place has risen. This underlines the hard work and resilience shown by all of the Caterhamians who applied.
Ceri Jones, Headmaster, said: “My warm congratulations to all of our pupils who have worked incredibly hard over the past twelve months to secure their offers, with the support and dedication of their teachers. We are very proud to have close to 50 Old Caterhamians currently studying at Oxford and Cambridge, and I know our offer holders look forward to joining them later this year.
Securing Oxbridge offers is but one measure of the success at the school but it does say something important about the academic ambition and experience of the school which benefits all pupils whatever their own particular journey may turn out to be. However we also remain committed to ensuring our pupils gain a place at the University and on the course that is right for them.”
