District Champions
The boys Inter and Junior Teams visited Crawley’s K2 Arena full of excitement for the District Championship. Outstanding performances from the two boys’ teams saw Caterham crowned as District Champions at both junior and intermediate level. The latter breaking RAAS’s seven-year reign as champions.
Top performers within the junior section were: Nick who was crowned District Champion with a leap of 4.74m in the long jump. Conor who came second in the triple jump with a distance of 9.90m. Enzo, second in the Discus with a throw of 24.71m. Oli, second in the 1500m with a time of 5:01.75s and Aaron who came third in the 200m with a time of 26.47s.
Not to be outdone, the Inter team produced some superb results to put an end to RAAS’s seven year rule at the top. Stand-out performances on the day came from Will, coming second in the hurdles: Laurie’s third place in the 200m with a time of 25.61; Tyler, third in the 400m with a time of 56.54; Gabes, third in the high jump, with a height of 1.60m; Jonny, second in the shot put with a distance of 9.49m. An impressive display from the discus-throwing duo of Jack and Finlay culminated in Caterham taking the top two positions on the rostrum. The latter being crowned District Champion with a distance of 27.07m.
